How Celery Seed Extract Eliminates Gout Pain
Celery seed is an excellent herbal remedy to help you eliminate gout pain. Certain herbal remedies are a very good method of helping get rid of an acute attack. This is because they either decrease swelling, improve kidney function, or reduce uric acid. Some such as celery seed do all these things.
Celery seed helps improve gout symptoms and the underlying causes of this arthritic disease. Celery seed reduces swelling as well as lowering your uric acid. it also promotes healthy kidney function so you can eliminate excessive uric acid.
Celery seed is a diuretic. Because of this fact, it is important to drink plenty of water. Proper hydrating yourself is very important in order to make your kidneys work properly. One way to ensure you are properly hydrated is to eat plenty of water dense foods and drink plenty of water.
You can use celery seed as either a spice in your dinners or you can take it in extract form. It is not usually advisable to eat the seeds themselves as they tend to be bitter and can be hard to swallow.
A cautionary note about using this herb. Though rare, allergic reaction is possible with celery seed. For the small amount of people who have an allergy, it can prove extremly dangerous even to the point of death.
The oils in the seeds can cause a condition known as anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis is a severe allergic reaction which if not treated, will cause death. Although, the chances are slim of you having this, you should err on the side of caution and check with your physician before taking this herb.
Although it is not common, certain women do get gout. Pregnant women should not use celery seed. The seeds can stimulate the uterus. This is not a good thing as it increases the chances of a miscarriage or possible premature birth.
Unless you have allergies to celery seed or are pregnant, celery seed should be very beneficial to you. Suggested dosages are 35-75mg per day and some naturopaths have suggested as much as 150mg.
